Hi, everyone! Welcome to the Round-Up, a new fortnightly post where I’ll send you the best of what I’ve been reading and hopefully save you a bunch of time in the process.
Major thought for the week: At our church, we’ve just begun a short series exploring the book of Proverbs. A few really stood out while reflecting on the subject of artificial intelligence and the church:
Proverbs 2:6:
“For the LORD gives wisdom;
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 17:24:
"Wisdom is the focus of the perceptive,
but a fool’s eyes roam to the end of the earth.”
As we seek wisdom on this subject, remember that God is the one who gives us wisdom even as we rightly strive for it with focused determination. Let’s pray for an abundance of God-given wisdom as we navigate these interesting seasons!

Currently I'm reading One Assembly by Jonathan Leeman to hear him out on his focus on church = assembly. It's good. I mostly agree with him but feel he needs a more scholarly work if he's gonna just dismiss BDAG and the whole history of the Protestant church. I end up in the same place as him though.
I'm also almost done reading Jacques Ellul's Technological Society. It's a fascinating book because it is just so ridiculously accurate on what technology is like (written 50+ years ago) but it's also unnecessarily deterministic. A really good read though.
There's a few other books that I keep meaning to finish. But those are the two I keep coming back to right now.
